There are a few hollows here, but nothing that you shouldn't be able to deal with. Then head right down the long corridor. Head down the flight of stairs to find a bonfire. Rest here if you want, and head out the doorway. Here, you will meet Seigmeyer of Catarina for the first time. Head back, and down the stairs again to meet Andre the Blacksmith.
If you head down, you will encounter a Titanite Demon. Let's head back up and back to where you fought those hollows in the Parish. Here, you'll find a giant armoured knight. Lure it into the courtyard and kill it for a titanite shard. Its attacks are very easy to telegraph, so you should have very little trouble with this one. Now, head into the elevator on the right. After a lengthy ride down, you will be back at Firelink Shrine - good to know! Now, head back up and underneath the statue, will be a Fire Keeper Soul.
Hang onto this for now. Turn around, and take out the Balder Knights you see in front of you. Lure them into the courtyard to get away from the magic attacks from above. Enter back into the Parish, and head up the stairs to find another Balder Knight. Firebombs work well here, due to the tightness of the area. Carefully walk up, then before entering, 10 hollows will attempt to rush you. Again, any AoE firebomb or spell will have these down in no time, don't try to melee them.
Once in the room, take out the channeler, and from where he was standing, go forward and left. Continue down the Hallway, killing the Balder Knight along the way.
Loop all the way around to a dead end, destroy the barrel with the corpse inside to get a Humanity. DO NOT enter this room - there is a horde of Hollows that will come chasing after you and if you didn't take out the Channeler earlier on then he can make them more powerful, so caution is advised. Lure the zombies into the corridor to limit the horde's effectiveness and provide a steady and manageable stream of zombies to take on once they're all disposed of, go into the room and kill the Channeler if you have not already done so.
Freedom - Once inside the room, there are passages ahead of you on the right and left of the room and there's also one on the left behind you. Take the one on the left in front of you t to find a small room with a Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier on a corpse. Heading out the same way you entered and straight through the doorway into a corridor with stairs at the end of it, you'll come across an Undead Soldier at the top of the resulting stairs.
Get him out of the way and head up the stairs, following the passage to the end where you will find a corpse in a barrel, break it to reveal its Humanity. Head back and you will see light passing through some wooden boards on your left. Break through, climb the stairs to find Knight Lautrec of Carim locked in a cell. The Mystery Key you picked up earlier can help you free him, if you wish; choosing to do will allow you to find him at Firelink Shrine , sitting down near Anastacia 's cell and if you talk to him you'll then be able to use his services for the Parish boss fight see Lautrec 's page for more details.
Finally head back to the room of the horde and take the unexplored passage on the right. Head up the ladders to find the fog gate , that leads to the Big Boss. Note: Before you go through the fog gate to face the boss, it should be noted that if you're in human form you have the opportunity to summon some help. If you met Solaire in Undead Burg and if you also freed Lautrec and then talked to him back in Firelink Shrine you will find their summon signs on the ground nearby the fog gate , so look around.
Boss Fight: Bell Gargoyle Quasimodo - Once the boss fight is complete, climb to the top of the tower head to ring the first Bell of Awakening and receive six Homeward Bones , but resist the urge to use one.
Instead head back down again to meet Oswald of Carim. It's advised that you buy some Purging Stones from him before you leave if possible - the last thing you want is to have to trek back here to buy them when you need them. The next destination is Lower Undead Burg , which you can access through the locked door at the other end of the Wyvern bridge.
Multiple times there is written "Hallow" instead of Hollow unless it was intentional. Another option for the black knight is lead him down beneath the bridge, towards the bonfire. He will fall off the narrow passes under the bridge. Anyone knows why I was not awarded with homeward bone after ringing the 1st bell? Happend on 2 NC, trying some speedy. I just finished Ornstein and Smough, then avenged the firekeeper. On my way through the church, I was attacked by this strange bug-like creature that had crab claws.
He was in the corner by the tower knight spot. This site is great. But the twitch streaming that auto plaued the video is suck. Instead of fighting the horde upstairs. Has anyone had this happen? I decided to do as much prep work before starting the main journey and that included getting the Fire Keeper Souls from both New Londo and Blighttown. I progressed normally through the story and got to the Undead Parish to get my third soul and then went back to Firelink.
The Fire Keeper was already dead! They are particularly weak against magic attacks, so Soul Arrows and Pyromancy are your best friends in this battle. Once you get one down, the second one should be a breeze.
Be careful, though, both Gargoyles start spewing flame towards the end of their lives. As a close-ranged fighter this encounter can be significantly more difficult.
If you can, try to kill the first Gargoyle before the second one arrives, you should be able to pull this off by staying on the end furthest away from the bell-tower as it takes some time for the second Gargoyle to fly down and walk all the way across the roof. After eliminating the first Gargoyle, the second poses as much danger as the first did on its own, whether that is a lot or none at all depends on your playing style.
The second Gargoyle likes to breathe fire, so you can use this to your advantage by waiting until a fire attack to run around the flames to attack from behind. As the fire attack takes a significant amount of time to finish you should be able to get a lot of attacks in, allowing you to kill it after using this tactic only once or twice. A quick note, if you collected the Gold Pine Resin in the Undead Burg apply this to your weapon and you will make quick work of the Gargoyles as they have weak resistance to both fire and lightning damage.
If you don't manage to kill the first Gargoyle before the second reaches you don't panic: as both of them breathe fire at this stage, you can still lure one of them into a fire attack so you can concentrate on the other.
Or, you can even lure both into a fire attack and attack them both simultaneously , though this last tactic is very risky. With the creatures dead, walk to the base of the bell tower. Climb the rest of the ladders and ring the first Bell of Awakening. Head back down to the bottom of the tower and you will find an ominous looking vendor named Oswald the Pardoner who sells items of great importance later in the game. You'll want to remember this guy should you ever be inflicted with the status ailment Curse or you manage to commit terrible sins.
With the bosses defeated and all items looted it's time to return to the bonfire. Head back the Undead Parish bonfire next to Andre, rest up and prepare yourself for another boss fight. Keep your distance, and the Demon will fall in just a few shots. The same tactic can work with regular Soul Arrows, Pyromancy and ranged attacks such as normal arrows, bolts or throwing daggers. The Titanite Demon is deadly up close, so try to keep him just inside of your lock-on range.
His ranged lightning attack is easy to dodge, so taking him down is just a matter of using your own ranged weapons to whittle down his health. There are even a few stones which allow you to shoot from behind them while shielding you from his lightning attacks.
As a melee character, the fight is still fairly easy. The only thing worth noting here is that when you block his swing, he brings his tail around to hit a second time. So keep that shield up after the initial hit. By the way this swing attack has a very long range Just block both attacks, and circle or roll to his back and chip away at him.
The safest place to attack him from is his backside on the left of the tail. He will jump up into the air attack so roll to the right to avoid the attack. Alternate strategy is lead him to the stairs located behind him when the fight starts. Except for the jump attack, all of his attacks can only hit you if you are on the same level as him.
Simply strike him from below, leading him down the stairs until you reach the bottom, run around him, and repeat. If you get low on health, roll away and dodge a lightning and then drink an estus.
He is pretty slow between lightning bolts. Press on after your victory to enter the Darkroot Garden. Dark Souls Wiki Guide. Last Edited: 24 May pm. Optional Challenge: Undead Parish Black Knight Once the area has been cleared of soldiers, spearmen, and crossbow archers, you're ready to take on the Black Knight if you feel daring. Fourth: Attack from behind. Score critical hits from backstabs by rolling past his attacks.
Ambushes, Balder Knights and Shortcuts The next area, further underneath the staircase you've just been hiding in, is home to a collection of Hollows who will ambush you. The Blacksmith Head further down the staircase and you'll come across that mysterious banging noise. First things first - don't attack him!
