If you gave this user a password as requested then this is the password you need. Root account is by default disabled — that means root has no password. There is no default password for sudo. The password that is being asked, is the same password that you set when you installed Ubuntu — the one you use to login. During installation, Kali Linux allows users to configure a password for the root user. By default, on Ubuntu, there is no password for the root account.
